This photograph is a part of the series "Book of Miracles", composed of "semi-documental, semi-fictional" (Premiyak, 2020) staged landscape photographs about Russian North.

In the interview with Premiyak (2020), Elukov explains, that he approaches each shot as an independent project, and there is a group of people (up to 40) working on each of them. Elukov also states that he is fascinated with supernatural phenomena and tries to create mythical scenes (ibid.) Why does he mostly appeal to very "general" visual metaphors, like holes in the ground, or some effects in the sky, ignoring reach northern mythology and folklore.

This work possibly could be connected to the broader theme of endangered Russian North and in particular to fading folklore of that region, and to the theme of myths and mythologization in general as well.
