HAMEIRI, Y. (2016). I think this is the closest to how the footage looked.

This is a stop motion animation of everyday objects representing family members and reconstructing events before the death of artist's mother.
This work shows memory as it is, its looseness, how memories can be recreated and reconstructed. How do the viewers perceive this work: documental in spite of the form or fictional in spite of theme and content? How does the choice of the materials (door handle and paint tube) from one perspective gives a distance from real people and real events, makes it less painful, but from the other perspective all of this random at first glance objects refer to the family footage at the end, and are things directly related to the trauma?
Broader themes/questions this work arises are: making personal public; representation of death; coping with loss; art as therapy.
